Medical Components

We have been developing a complete range of components for the enteral ISO standard 80369-3 for several years.

A. Hopf has been a member of the GEDSA organisation from the beginning and has been setting the new standard with its connectors together with the industry partners since 2014.

Applications

In the medical field, our products and devices are manufactured for many different applications: intravenous therapy, transfusion, artificial nutrition (enteral and parenteral), medical imaging, ophthalmology, dentistry, dialysis, oncology, in vitro fertilisation, medical accessories, etc.

High-flow stopcocks

We design and manufacture high-performance medical stopcocks trusted by device manufacturers across Europe.
Our stopcocks’ open-gate handle design helps maintain an unobstructed fluid pathway and minimises the risk of flow restriction.
To evaluate their performance, we conducted internal comparative tests with four widely used stopcocks available on the market.

Two-Component (2K) Injection Moulding

To expand our expertise in medical plastic component manufacturing, we have invested in a 2K injection moulding machine.
This advanced process allows two thermoplastic materials, or two colours of the same material, to be moulded together during a single production cycle. It is particularly well suited to medical components that combine rigid structural elements with soft sealing features, such as polypropylene (PP) overmoulded with thermoplastic elastomers (TPE).

As some types of plastic contain the plasticiser Bisphenol-A, which has been banned in a number of products such as drinking bottles and baby articles, the issue of BPA-free products has become crucial in the field of medical devices. A. Hopf has pioneered the development of BPA-free components with Y-connectors and 3-way stopcocks made from BPA-free raw materials.

PVC-free intravenous set

A growing number of medical device companies are looking for alternatives to PVC. PVC contains chlorine, which can cause environmental problems during production and disposal. In response to changing market demands, we have once again been proactive and developed a PVC-free intravenous set, offering our customers an alternative to PVC with a reasonable solution in terms of raw material and production costs.

Quality Management and Certification

For A. Hopf GmbH, the quality of its services and the delivery of quality products is a key success factor. In order to ensure a high and homogeneous product and process quality as well as the traceability of the production down to the delivered raw material, we have established a certified quality management system for medical production for more than 2 decades. Our quality management system is supported by precise quality assurance with high quality test equipment, process traceability and reliable design development.

EN ISO 13485:2016 certification is therefore a key factor in the success of our business and the basis of our excellent international reputation as a quality manufacturer at affordable prices in a rapidly changing medical device market.
